Certified Medical Assistant | Northside Cardio | Days | Full Time

Job Duties

• Take patient's vital signs.
• Prepare patients for the provider's care.
• Aid in patient examinations or treatments.
• Document entries in the medical record accurately.
• Administer medication as directed by and under the direct supervision of a licensed physician.
• Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms.
• Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the provider.
• Provide basic first aid.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Collaborate as an active care team member in coordinating patient care.
• Provide high standards of customer service to patients, staff, and other customers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Two years Clerical/Customer Service experience, preferably in a healthcare-related industry.
• One year experience with third-party payors and computer skills for entering data and reviewing patient demographic material.

Education

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required within six months.
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required at the time of hire.
• A Medical Terminology Certificate is preferred at the time of hire.

Additional Details

A requirement of having completed an MA program accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, a national or state medical association, or an agency approved by the board.
