Certified Medical Assistant - Multi-Specialty - Physician Practice

About the role

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will assist in providing clinical care to select patients under the supervision of a professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner, while also providing clerical office support.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments.
• Assists with patient preparation for physician visits and examinations as directed.
• Takes and records patient vital signs in the medical chart.
• Understands the proper function and care of special equipment.
• Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab testing after completing performance evaluation checklists.
• Maintains patient records by completing and filing records and reports as directed.
• Assists with collections and billing procedures as needed.
• Uses computer software to maintain office systems.
• Identifies and responds to confidentiality issues.
• Assesses and addresses the specific needs of the patient population served (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing or visual impairments).
• Communicates effectively with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at their developmental, educational, and literacy levels.
• Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours per day.

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively and supportively with diverse populations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program (preferred).
• Certified Medical Assistant, National Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Registered Advanced Medical Assistant, Certified Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Registered Clinical Medical Assistant Specialist, Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate, Certified Clinical Administrative Medical Assistant, or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Pay

Minimum starting rate of $24.51 per hour. The posted rate is a reasonable good-faith estimate of the base pay for this role and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding. Some positions may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, commissions, or shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend shifts.
