Certified Medical Assistant/LPN

Pay Range: $24.00 to $32.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt, hourly position located at Northwest Asthma and Allergy – 10333 19th Ave SE, Suite 105, Everett 98208.

About the Role

The Certified Medical Assistant/LPN assists with clinical operations at our Everett location to keep patient flow smooth and efficient while providing a high level of patient care. This role works with patients of all ages and assists with rooming patients, collecting vitals, and performing point-of-care testing associated with asthma and allergy care. Our office maintains a supportive and efficient working environment with a 2:1 CMA-to-provider ratio. Typically, our offices have 1-2 doctors, each seeing 14-22 patients per day, ensuring a balanced workload and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and record vital signs, medication history, drug allergy verification, and review of symptoms list.
• Conduct preliminary tests as appropriate based on the problem list or patient’s presenting symptoms.
• Enter all data into the EMR system.
• Perform procedures without error in a timely fashion as ordered by the provider.
• Provide patient education, including but not limited to medications care planning, disease process understanding, environmental controls, and device teaching. Document specific take-home messages for the patient in the EMR system.
• Take inventory of supplies and restock as needed. Maintain sample medications and printed information for patients.
• Turn over exam rooms to prepare for the next patient.

Requirements

• Current Washington State LPN or CMA license.
• Completion of the 7-hour state-mandated AIDS/HIV training program.
• CPR/First Aid for healthcare professionals certification.
• Washington state-insured Medical Assistant certification or registration proof.
• Comprehension of EMR/HER recordkeeping systems for healthcare delivery. Prior experience with Athena, Epic, GE, or other systems is required.
• Self-motivation, empathy, and stellar interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask.
• Enthusiasm and desire to participate as a team member and gain a variety of technical skills.
• Experience working in an outpatient setting, preferably in asthma/allergy, ENT, pediatric, or dermatology specialty offices.
