About the role
The Infusion Assistant position at ARBDA involves providing medical care, service, and clinical support to patients under the direction of a physician or registered nurse. Key responsibilities include preparing infusion records, maintaining a clean and safe environment, interviewing and comforting patients, administering injections, and assisting with various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepares infusion records and prepares infusion area for treatment.
- Interviews, receives, instructs, reassures, and comforts patients.
- Checks and records vital signs, reviews and documents laboratory tests, and operates infusion equipment.
- Administers injections and pre-medications under supervision.
- Aids in obtaining vital signs, removing intravenous catheters, scheduling appointments, and managing supplies.
- Supports infusion triage by answering calls as needed.
- Utilizes internal inventory systems for tracking medications and supplies.
Requirements
- Valid Medical Assistant certification.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of medical office experience as a CMA preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
Qualifications
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with EMR systems.
