About the role

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate, patient-oriented Certified Medical Assistant II to join our Urgent Care team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will work alongside experienced providers and clinical staff in a busy urgent care setting, providing high-quality care and support to patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients and obtaining and documenting vital signs
  • Administering injections and performing venipuncture and specimen processing
  • Conducting urinalysis and EKG testing
  • Assisting with in-office procedures
  • Preparing and cleaning procedure rooms
  • Maintaining proper infection control standards
  • Safely disposing of biohazard and sharps waste
  • Ensuring clinical supplies are fully stocked and organized
  • Expanding clinical skillset through employer-provided training in basic radiology and IV starts

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Awareness of and adherence to cleaning and infection control standards
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills for safe and effective patient care and documentation
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement

Previous experience is preferred.
