Job Summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant II or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dynamic Urgent Care team! This Position is on-call, likely 1-shift per week!

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients
  • Obtaining and documenting vital signs
  • Administering injections
  • Performing venipuncture and specimen processing
  • Conducting urinalysis and EKG testing
  • Assisting with in-office procedures
  • Preparing and cleaning procedure rooms
  • Maintaining proper infection control standards
  • Safely disposing of biohazard and sharps waste
  • Ensuring clinical supplies are fully stocked and organized
  • Expanding clinical skillset through employer-provided training in basic radiology and IV starts

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Aware of standards of cleaning and performs in accordance with them
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
  • Previous experience preferred
