About the Role
Provide quality patient care under the supervision of a physician or licensed healthcare provider in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of clinical and lab equipment, adhering to OSHA, DHEC, and UMA standards.
- Maintain and review patient records, communicate test results, and educate patients about their care and treatment plans.
- Manage exam room supplies, instruments, and maintain a clean, compliant environment.
- Assist with patient scheduling, screening, and education; observe and report patient conditions and reactions.
- Respond to and triage phone calls, instruct patients on treatments, and handle medication distribution, including samples and controlled substances.
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures, assist during treatments, and instruct on sample collection and testing.
- Room patients, take vitals and health histories, and document in electronic medical records.
- Administer injections and assist with minor procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
- Certification through recognized bodies such as AMT, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, or NAHP.
- Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions; good vision and dexterity required.
