Certified Medical Assistant-Float

Job Description

The Certified Medical Assistant is needed for ambulatory care clinics at MUSC Community Physicians (MCP). The position involves providing clinical and clerical support across various clinics including Primary Care and Specialty clinics.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Records or inputs information into patients' medical records.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examinations of patients.
• Uses basic computer skills.
• Maintains annual competencies related to therapeutic procedures.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certified through AMT, AAMA, NHA, or NAHP as a CCMA, CMA, or MedCA.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and implement detailed instructions.
• Able to make accurate physical observations of patients.
