Responsibilities

• Extends medical care to patients under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
• Maintains education requirements for the position and demonstrates competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests.
• Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, initiating testing, and documenting results in the practice’s designated system.
• Maintains OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance, following safety processes and policies.
• Functions and assists others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively applies stress management techniques.
• Resolves issues and works independently within the scope of their certification.
• Exercises sound judgment, diplomacy, and a professional demeanor.
• Communicates by reading, writing, and typing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements.
• Utilizes computers and maintains knowledge of health care field and medical terminology.
• Manages chronic disease management and utilizes internal and external resources.
• Advocates for patients and navigates complex systems.
• Applies expertise in patient advocacy and complex systems navigation.
• Works independently and collaboratively within the scope of their certification.
• Exhibits ability to communicate effectively by reading, writing, and typing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements.
• Has experience with computers.

Requirements

• High School Grad or Equiv
• Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology
• Knowledge of chronic disease management
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources
• Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems
• Ability to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniques
• Ability to resolve issues and work independently within the scope of their certification
• Ability to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and a professional demeanor
• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements
• Experience with computers required

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
• OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• OR National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
