Responsibilities

• Greeting patients and escorting them to exam rooms.
• Taking patients’ vital signs and other medical information.
• Preparing and sterilizing medical instruments.
• Maintaining exam rooms and ensuring they are disinfected, orderly, and ready for patients.
• Providing patients with privacy, comfort, safety, and hygiene.
• Aiding in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies, instruments, and equipment for exam rooms.
• Handling inventory control and reviewing orders for completeness.
• Addressing and requesting referrals and insurance authorizations, including communicating with pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
• Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
