About the role

Provides direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting, functioning as a vital member of the healthcare team under provider supervision. Performs clinical duties such as preparing patients, collecting vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, and documenting in electronic medical records. Supports administrative tasks including scheduling, filing reports, following up on documentation, and handling billing inquiries. Emphasizes a collaborative, inclusive environment committed to excellence and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient information using electronic tools.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist with patient readiness.
• Support provider during examinations and minor procedures.
• Perform tests, collect specimens, and assist with laboratory functions.
• Manage clerical duties including scheduling, referrals, and patient communication.
• Ensure infection prevention, sterilization, and equipment maintenance.
• Participate in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required, certified by recognized governing bodies.
• Preferred completion of a 1‑year certificate or 2‑year diploma Medical Assistant program.
• Proficiency in clinical procedures, phlebotomy, medication administration (excluding IV meds), and infection control protocols.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills essential.
• High school diploma or GED required; specialty training preferred.
