CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA) (PART-TIME) - NORTHWEST URGENT CARE - LAKELAND
About the role
Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate, patient-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will:
- Room patients and record vital signs
- Administer injections and perform venipuncture
- Conduct urinalysis and EKG testing
- Set up and clean procedure rooms for in-office procedures
- Properly discard all biohazard and sharps waste
- Stock supplies
- Demonstrate good principles and practices of aseptic technique
- Apply knowledge of standard precautions, EKGs, urinalysis, venipuncture (including proper order of draw and specimen processing), and basic pharmacology
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Awareness of and adherence to cleaning standards
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and documentation standards
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement
- Previous experience is preferred
