CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA) (PART-TIME) - NORTHWEST URGENT CARE - LAKELAND

About the role

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate, patient-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will:

• Room patients and record vital signs
• Administer injections and perform venipuncture
• Conduct urinalysis and EKG testing
• Set up and clean procedure rooms for in-office procedures
• Properly discard all biohazard and sharps waste
• Stock supplies
• Demonstrate good principles and practices of aseptic technique
• Apply knowledge of standard precautions, EKGs, urinalysis, venipuncture (including proper order of draw and specimen processing), and basic pharmacology

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• Awareness of and adherence to cleaning standards
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others
• Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and documentation standards
• Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement
• Previous experience is preferred
