About the role

Assists the physician and office staff with performance of patient care activities consistent with the established standards of nursing practice. The incumbent integrates the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life, and the dignity of each person into their work.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients, families, visitors, and co-workers in a caring, friendly, personal, and professional manner.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.
• Must have completed all MA Competencies.
• Certified to actively maintain MA certification.
• Can be hired as a Certified Medical Assistant if they are a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant.

Qualifications

• One year of applicable patient care experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Skills

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
