Clinical Support & Rooming

• Greeting patients, verifying identity, and documenting the "Reason for Visit" in the EHR.
• Capturing accurate vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, and pulse oximetry.
• Reviewing the current medication list and allergies with the patient to ensure the provider has a clean record.
• Performing routine screenings such as PHQ-9 (depression) or GAD-7 (anxiety) as indicated by the visit type.

Hands-On Procedures

• Administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections (e.g., Flu shots, TB tests, or B12).
• Performing CLIA-Waived Testing such as Strep, Pregnancy (hCG), and Glucose.
• Drawing blood (phlebotomy), processing urine samples, and ensuring all specimens are labeled correctly before they leave the room.
• Performing EKGs, ear irrigations, and assisting with basic splinting or casting under the supervision of a provider.

Administrative Responsibilities

• In-Basket Management: Sorting through provider messages, lab results, and patient requests.
• Prior Authorizations: Coordinating with insurance companies to ensure medications or referrals are covered.
• Room Maintenance: Cleaning and stocking exam rooms between every patient to meet infection control standards.
• Equipment Sterilization: Managing the autoclave and ensuring surgical instruments are processed according to protocol.
