Certified Landscape Specialist

About the role

Maintains turf, ornamental trees, and shrubs on homeowner and commercial landscape sites by performing the following duties and other tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Applies fertilizer and weed control.
• Organizes daily production and service calls.
• Performs light vehicle maintenance including inspecting, washing and vacuuming.
• Schedules wear-and-tear vehicle maintenance.
• Maintains daily customer contact.
• Completes invoices and reports.
• Drives company vehicles on service routes.
• Sells add-on services to existing clients and develops new customers.

Qualifications

• No experience necessary.
• Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Must be able to write simple correspondence.
• Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Must be able to compute rates, ratios and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Must be able to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Familiarity with the basic operations of cellular phones and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to interact comfortably with customers on a daily basis by phone and in person.
• Ability to deal with customer complaints in a professional and positive manner.
• Pesticide Applicator License preferred.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions.
• Work environment is usually moderate in noise level.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
