Certified Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician

About the role

Nelbud is seeking experienced Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning (KEC) professionals to join its Lexington‑area team, supported by the Louisville branch. This is a salaried position plus commission with strong earning potential and clear paths for career advancement within a growing national company.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, ductwork, and exhaust fans
• Remove grease buildup using pressure washers and specialized cleaning equipment
• Perform rooftop and ladder work as part of a field‑based crew
• Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and applicable KEC requirements
• Identify service needs and communicate findings appropriately
• Deliver dependable, professional service to customers
• Support crew operations, training, and successful job completion based on experience and level
• Identify appropriate service opportunities and contribute to customer relationships

Requirements

• Previous professional kitchen exhaust cleaning experience
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to perform physical labor and work at heights
• Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew
• Ability to work overnight and varying schedules

Qualifications

• Holdings such as Boston certification, Massachusetts certification, or both are welcomed
• Demonstrated technical expertise and leadership experience in KEC
• Experience will be evaluated for placement within Nelbud’s KEC career structure

Pay

Salaried position plus commission with $50,000–$70,000 total annual earning potential.

Schedule

• Overnight work with varying start times based on customer schedules
• Ability to work overnight and varying schedules
