Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• AAPC, AHIMA certification (CAH-BS, CCS, CPC, CIC)
• At least 5 years of active coding experience in Facility Inpatient Coding and Compliant Query practices
• Knowledge of coding compliance policies, official coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICD10-CM, PCS, and CPT coding systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, statistics, and computer skills
• Effective communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 50 pounds
• Proficiency in English, including written and verbal fluency

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent
• An AAPC or AHIMA certification to include CAH-BS, CCS, CPC, or CIC
• At least 5 years of active coding experience in Facility Inpatient Coding and Compliant Query practices
• Knowledge of coding compliance policies, official coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures affecting the coding process
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICD10-CM, PCS, and CPT coding systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, statistics, and computer skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of MGRMC staff and support personnel
• Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form
• Understanding of computer systems, process design, and data management
• Well-groomed, professional appearance
• Mental and physical ability to perform essential functions of the job
