Job Responsibilities
- Affords assistance with prescribed exercise and ROM activities.
- Provides assistance in toileting, positioning, and transfer activities, including frequent turning and positioning of a bed-bound resident/patient.
- Assists or assists in ADL activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, mouth care, skin care, and nails.
- Aids in medication administration in accordance with regulatory and accrediting bodies' guidelines.
- Assists with light housekeeping tasks, including changing of bed linen and patient laundry.
- Feeds and assists with meals.
- Collects temperature, pulse, and respiration readings under supervision of the Hospice Nurse.
- Reports any changes in the resident's/patient's condition to the Hospice Nurse and, if in a facility, to the facility nurse, documenting the information including the date and time of the report and the person receiving the information.
Requirements
- HHA License in the state of NJ.
- Understanding of the hospice philosophy.
- At least one year of experience working in hospice.
- Reliable transportation.
