Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)
Right at Home, In-Home Care & Assistance, is seeking a Skilled Certified Home Health Aide or Companion Caregiver to provide compassionate and meaningful care in Middlesex, Mercer, and Northern Monmouth Counties. Help seniors stay at home and age in place by supporting their daily activities.
About the Role
Certified Home Health Aides must be detail-oriented and able to follow protocols and rules regarding patient care. Aides must adhere to instructions from doctors and nurses, such as caring for minor medical issues or reporting changes in a patient’s health. They should be trustworthy and dependable to ensure the patient and their family feel comfortable relying on them.
Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
- NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide (required)
- 2-step PPD
- Physical within the last 12 months
- MMR
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
- Reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Record and report patient data as medically necessary
- Assist patients with daily functions, such as dressing or bathing
- Plan and organize transportation for doctor’s appointments and other meetings
- Light housekeeping (dusting, mopping, laundry, etc.)
- Prep and cook meals
- Grocery shopping
- Report to nurses about patients' health status
- Teach patients self-care skills
- Work in facility settings, hourly, or live-in shifts
Pay
Salary: $18–20 per hour (depending on experience and case)
Schedule
- Full-time, part-time, and per-diem shifts available
- Weekend and overnight shifts available
