Certified Group Fitness Instructor

About the role

The Group Fitness Instructor instructs members & guests through a variety of group exercise/fitness formats. The GFI guides members & guests through group exercise formats in a group setting.

Responsibilities

• Inform members & guests of proper safety techniques
• Welcome all members & guests at the beginning of each class
• Inform participants of the ability level of the class format being taught
• Supervise members & guests through the duration of the class
• Encourage members & guests to achieve fitness goals by consistent participation
• Describe and inform members & guests of other class formats offered at Dynamic Fitness
• Follow all Dynamic Fitness policies and procedures

Requirements

• Ability to deal with a diverse group of people
• Ability to speak appropriately with all age groups
• Great communication skills
• Knowledge of appropriate exercise technique, principles, and format
• Ability to effectively teach all skills being taught to participants
• Ability to follow directions/instructions
• Maintain a professional demeanor in relation to members and co-workers
• Be “on-time” and possess a “can-do” attitude
• Dress professionally and uphold an appropriate attitude and behavior
• Be outgoing, enthusiastic, and able to be captivating in front of class participants

Qualifications

• Possess a current Group Exercise certification or specialized fitness format certification
• Training (additionally) in specialty formats (where as required)
• Prior six months experience in facilitating/teaching group exercise classes

Pay

$17.00+ per hour
