About the role
We are seeking a qualified, experienced Certified GM Technician who is eager to build their career with us!
Responsibilities
- Create an exceptional customer experience while building customer loyalty.
- Swiftly and accurately perform automotive repairs including engine management systems, fuel management systems, transmission, electrical alignment, steering, suspension, brakes, etc.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, alignment, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Follow repair escalation process.
- Adhere to all factory warranty requirements including time punches, accurate documentation, parts returns.
- Perform vehicle inspections.
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
- Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
- Keep a clean work area including bay, toolbox and surrounding area.
Qualifications
- Must be able to complete all phases of Automotive Repair.
- Must be able to operate a vehicle.
- Must know and understand the dealership computer systems.
- Must attend company and factory training.
- Must stay current with manufacturer warranty requirements.
- Must be able to establish and maintain good relationships with customers and co-workers.
- Must be able to answer customers' technical questions regarding vehicle problems, warranties, services, and repairs.
- Must have knowledge of automotive systems in general.
- Must be able to review service orders and inspect the vehicle for necessary repairs.
- Must have knowledge of new models and product improvements, based on technical service bulletins, etc.
- Must have knowledge of warranty guidelines and ability to relate them to warranty service repair orders.
- Must be able to communicate well with co-workers throughout repair process.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for three or more hours at a time.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license and meet company MVR policy requirements.
- Must have your own tools.
- Two (2) or more years' experience preferred.
