Job Overview

Pay Range: $25.00 – $32.00+ per hour, depending on certification, experience, and qualifications.

Project Scope: Portable fire extinguisher and life-safety equipment field service and inspection
Mandatory Licenses & Certifications
- Current fire extinguisher technician certification, license, or registration required by the applicable state, local jurisdiction, or AHJ
- Valid driver’s license
How You Will Make An Impact
Inspect, test, service, recharge, tag, and maintain portable fire extinguishers according to NFPA 10 and manufacturer specifications.
Evaluate extinguisher placement, pressure, brackets, labels, and overall readiness across commercial and industrial facilities.
Identify compliance deficiencies, expired units, or structural safety hazards and communicate required resolutions clearly to clients.
Complete high-quality annual inspections, repair operations, and component replacements within your authorized certification scope.
Document all field assets, safety deficiencies, and service actions utilizing BuildOps field service software on mobile devices.
Maintain assigned service inventory, tools, and your company vehicle in an organized, clean, and dispatch-ready condition.
Coordinate directly with service leadership, dispatch, and property contacts to ensure seamless route optimization and site access.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Active fire extinguisher technician certification, license, or registration required by the local jurisdiction or AHJ
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record to safely operate a company field vehicle
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, and maneuver equipment up to 50 pounds in diverse commercial environments
- Willingness to support occasional overtime, early starts, or schedule adjustments based on territory service needs
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of one year of direct experience inspecting, servicing, and recharging portable fire extinguishers
- Deep familiarity with NFPA 10 standards and a wide variety of specialty chemical, clean agent, and Class K units
- Prior experience navigating routes and field service ticketing platforms like BuildOps in a self-directed manner
- Additional technical certifications, manufacturer training, or OSHA safety training
