Certified Dietary Manager CDM

About the Role

NHC Place St. Peters Memory Care is looking for an energetic, motivated, and positive Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to join our team. The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for the Food & Nutrition Services Department.

Responsibilities

• Manage the department by completing schedules, inventory, and food orders.
• Provide ongoing education and ensure quality food preparation and service to all customers while meeting budgetary guidelines.
• Assist the Registered Dietitian with clinical duties.
• If there is no Director of Food and Nutrition Services, oversee the total operation of the Food and Nutrition Services Department, including planning, directing, and supervising all functions and partners.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for all customers, considering special diet requirements and individual food preferences.
• Obtain menu approval if not a Registered Dietitian.
• Handle food and supply purchases, maintain cost records, and meet budget guidelines for food, supply, labor, and total budget. Participate in budget planning.
• Manage equipment purchases, maintain equipment records, notify maintenance of malfunctioning equipment, and prepare preventive maintenance sheets.
• Interview, hire, orient, train, counsel, discipline, and terminate dietary partners as needed.
• Schedule work hours and assignments, review and check work assignments.
• Evaluate work performance and complete periodic evaluations of Food and Nutrition Services partners.
• Maintain personnel records of Food and Nutrition Services partners.
• Assist in developing and adhering to policies and procedures, menus, job descriptions, cleaning schedules, and other dietary management tools.
• Develop, revise, and adapt work techniques and methods for more efficient department operation and training of partners.

Requirements

• At least one year of administrative experience is helpful but not required.
• At least one year of clinical experience is helpful but not required.
• Must possess and use excellent customer service and communication skills.
• May be required to have or obtain a Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course, as required by state regulations.
• May be required to be licensed and/or certified as required by specific state guidelines.
