Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - East TN Primary Care

Responsibilities

• Perform patient triage: record weight, blood pressure, temperature, update medication lists, and document chief complaints.
• Manage electronic patient prescription services, including communication with pharmacies and verification of all medical prescriptions.
• Utilize and maintain knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Conduct phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Answer telephones, screen calls, retrieve voicemails, and return patient calls.
• Complete pre-certification requirements for all procedures.
• Communicate lab results to patients.
• Maintain daily logs.
• Address patient questions regarding appointments and testing.
• Educate patients on procedure preparations and provide relevant information.
• Schedule procedures, medical tests, and referral appointments, coordinating dates, times, and locations as needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify all necessary information, such as demographics and insurance details, in the patient medical record.
• Assist other staff members as directed.
• Perform additional job functions as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of nursing principles, protocols, medication names, and prescribing practices.
• Understanding of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA standards).
• Familiarity with medical chart reporting and records.
• Regular, punctual in-person attendance.
• Attendance at required meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Medical Assistant Training.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification.
• State LPN License.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Daily standing, walking, squatting, bending, and maneuvering.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of managing stress triggered by workload and challenging situations.
