Responsibilities

• Perform and participate in the decontamination and cleaning of all received instrumentation and equipment.
• Operate index washers, cart washers, and ultrasonic cleaners while manually cleaning instruments according to established standards.
• Inspect all instruments for cleanliness, proper function, and breakage before assembly.
• Assemble instrument sets using appropriate containers, wraps, or pouches according to size.
• Sterilize instruments and surgical trays by operating steam and Sterrad sterilizers following prescribed policies.
• Run tests on all sterilizers, monitor processes, and document that all parameters have been met.
• Use chemicals safely and appropriately while wearing correct personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Prepare case carts and trays for decontamination, load washers, and accurately assemble carts to expedite the OR schedule.
• Maintain adequate inventory for the assembly of instruments and equipment to support efficient daily operations.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment where professionalism, communication, and patient-centered care are shared priorities.

Requirements

• Current National Sterile Processing Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of CSPD experience.
• Five years of CRCST experience in a hospital setting or Same Day Surgery Center is preferred.

Pay

The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $24.49 - $30.56 per hour if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
