About the role

Provides personal caregiving services and support in the client’s home.

Supports the personal needs, comfort, and safety of clients.

Prepares meals and assists with special diets.

Performs general housekeeping and household support activities.

Offers limited assistance with vital signs for informational purposes only, in accordance with company guidelines.

Maintains accurate communication and reporting changes in client condition to the appropriate care team.

Responsibilities

• Aids with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Assists with transportation to appointments, errands, and activities.
• Administers medications as delegated and permitted by state regulations, including completion of Nurse Delegation.
• Completes Diabetes certifications when required.
• Performs Passive Range of Motion activities when properly credentialed and trained.
• Offers compassionate companionship and emotional support.
• Assists with Passive Range of Motion activities when properly credentialed and trained.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Current HCA or CNA license required (renewed annually).
• Ability to meet BCCU background check requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable, compassionate, and able to work independently with good judgment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
• Close, distance, and peripheral vision.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone.

• Physical requirements may include: sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching with hands and arms.
