About the role
Gersh Autism has been empowering students on the autism spectrum since 1991. We serve individuals aged 5-21 across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, offering personalized education and comprehensive therapeutic services.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment programs designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
- Provide high-quality ABA services to families and children
- Participate in parent education groups to improve the quality of life for families
- Auxiliary classroom teacher, implementing IEPs and BIPs for students with autism
- Support students with daily tasks, including communication, social interaction, self-management skills, and hygiene
- Prepare students for classroom activities, field trips, and other school-related events
- Implement strategies and techniques from students' behavior intervention plans to encourage self-regulation
- Collect and document data on student performance, behavior, and progress toward goals
- Collaborate with the teaching team and behavioral specialists to create a positive and structured learning environment
- Communicate effectively with teachers and other school staff regarding student progress and challenges
- Participate in daily training sessions and professional development
Requirements
- Washington State CBT license required
- Minimum of 12 hours of college credit in ABA, Psychology, Education, or other related field preferred
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- CPR/First Aid/BLS certification preferred

- Ability to keep students safe from themselves and others
- Ability to remove oneself from potentially harmful situations
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the workday
- Ability to lift (at least 50-65 pounds), assist, and/or physically support students
- Ability to physically intervene when required to ensure safety
- Ability to remove oneself and/or others from unsafe situations quickly
- Ability to maintain attention and focus in a dynamic, high-stimulation environment
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities quickly
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making, particularly in high-pressure or safety-sensitive situations
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain professional relationships
- Ability to perform duties under stress, including during behavioral escalations
Location
Issaquah, WA
Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 3:30pm
Occasional before and after school work hours at the discretion of the Administrative staff
School / Classroom setting
This is a 12-month school program

Pay Range
$26 - $26 USD per hour (Cougar Mountain)
