About the role
NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a passionate and dynamic athletic trainer to work with the Athletic Department of Rutgers University-Camden, supporting their Athletic Program. This is an opportunity to start in a Division III setting with an outstanding Sports Medicine Team, which includes two full-time athletic trainers, one sports physical therapist, a general medicine physician on campus, and sports medicine physicians from a local orthopedic group.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement specific therapeutic programs for injured athletes’ rehabilitation.
- Determine the need for and administer proper athletic training techniques before and during games/practices to decrease risk of injury (e.g., taping, wrapping, bracing, proper hydration, and minor wound care).
- Determine the effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record changes as indicated by athlete response within the limits of the specified plan of care.
- Manage emergency incidents, coordinate EMS, and perform acute care procedures, including basic life support, to reduce the impact on the function of an injured athlete.
- Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events to promote the company (e.g., races, club teams).
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.
- National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA-BOC) Board of Certification.
- CPR certification.
- Applicable state license where required.

Pay
$55,000 - $65,000 annually, based on years of experience.
Schedule
Weekdays and weekends, typical collegiate athletic trainer hours.
