About the role
Certified Athletic Trainer – PRN, responsible for providing athletic training and sports medicine services to high school athletes.
Responsibilities
- Offer medical coverage during athletic events
- Evaluate and treat injuries
- Assist with injury prevention and rehabilitation
- Communicate activity restrictions and injury status
- Collaborate with coaches, families, and healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Educate athletes on health and safety
- Support community sports medicine activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training
- Current BOC certification
- Illinois license or eligibility
- CPR/AED certification
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, injury assessment, and therapeutic techniques
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and professionalism
Skills & Attributes
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and handle emergency situations
- Ability to work in diverse environments, including outdoor and indoor athletic settings
- Physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, and quick response to injuries
Preferred Experience
1-2 years in athletic training, especially with high school programs, and experience in healthcare or event coverage is advantageous.
