Certified Athletic Trainer - PRN

Reports to the Sports Medicine Manager. Provides PRN athletic trainer coverage for local affiliate high school, club, collegiate, or professional teams, as well as coverage for local tournaments and community-based sports-related events. Works under the general supervision of physicians, physical therapists, physician assistants, and/or nurse practitioners.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic trainer coverage for practices, games, tournaments, and special events.
• Adjust communication (verbal and non-verbal) to interact effectively with diverse age groups, including school-age adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA in Athletic Training (Master’s degree preferred).
• Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC).
• Licensure as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC and the SCLLR Board of Medical Examiners.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Availability for weekend and evening hours to cover events.

Pay

Hourly pay grade: Health-26.

Schedule

PRN (as needed) position with a scheduled weekly average of 4 hours.
