Reports to the Sports Medicine Manager. Provides PRN athletic trainer coverage for local affiliate high school, club, collegiate, or professional teams, as well as coverage for local tournaments and community-based sports-related events. Works under the general supervision of physicians, physical therapists, physician assistants, and/or nurse practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Provide athletic trainer coverage for practices, games, tournaments, and special events.
- Adjust communication (verbal and non-verbal) to interact effectively with diverse age groups, including school-age adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA in Athletic Training (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC).
- Licensure as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC and the SCLLR Board of Medical Examiners.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Availability for weekend and evening hours to cover events.
Pay
Hourly pay grade: Health-26.
Schedule
PRN (as needed) position with a scheduled weekly average of 4 hours.
