About the Role

Olympic Sports & Spine (OSS), Western Washington's leading school-based athletic training services provider, is seeking a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer to join our dynamic team and serve Franklin Pierce High School. The ATC will provide comprehensive athletic training services for an assigned high school throughout the school year.

Responsibilities

  • Attend games and practices
  • Provide training room treatment for injuries
  • Develop preventive programs to minimize sports-related injuries
  • Manage emergencies involving student-athlete injuries
  • Communicate injuries and treatment plans to coaches, athletes, parents, and team physicians
  • Complete thorough and accurate athletic injury evaluation
  • Provide first aid and immediate care for acute injuries
  • Assess, develop, implement, and oversee appropriate rehabilitation and return-to-play programs for athletes' concussion screening
  • Attend all practices and games, including traveling with the team to away games, community events, state championships, parks & rec league sports, and signature events such as the Tacoma City Marathon, Sound to Narrows, and Hoopfest

Practice Environment

High school-based work requires collaboration with school administrators, coaches, team physicians, athletes, and parents. All Athletic Trainers are given significant independence to represent the OSS brand while simultaneously receiving direct, immediate, and expert support from the OSS team. This is a unique opportunity to join a group of 20+ other Athletic Trainers backed by the region's leading sports medicine company, with support from an all-athletic trainer management team.

Qualifications

  • Degree in athletic training
  • BOC-certified
  • BLS certification
  • Licensed in Washington State
