Certified Asbestos Consultant/Project Manager/CAC

About the Role

Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental Sciences Consultants is seeking a CAC/Certified Asbestos Consultant with hazardous building materials survey (HBMS) experience to serve as a Project Manager level Environmental Scientist in our Irvine, California office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage asbestos and lead-based paint surveys and assessment projects.
• Prepare hazardous materials (hazmat) survey reports.
• Assist with the preparation of abatement specifications and operations and maintenance plans.
• Provide abatement monitoring, oversight, clearance sampling.
• Prepare scope proposals for clients.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent preferred; proven experience and certifications will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of ten years' experience performing relevant projects.
• Experience interpreting architectural drawings and identifying building components.
• Understanding of local Air Pollution Control Districts (e.g., South Coast Air Quality Management District Rule 1403).
• Experience performing and overseeing asbestos, lead-based paint, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), microbiological, and hazardous building-material surveys and abatement oversight/monitoring.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility with work schedule.

Qualifications

• Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) required.
• Lead certifications such as Lead Inspector, Assessor, Project Monitor, or Sampling Technician (Lead Project Monitor preferred but other lead certifications accepted).
• Experience with subsurface soil and groundwater investigations is a plus but not required.
