Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA)- Milwaukee, Wisconsin

About the role

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Department of Anesthesia is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality anesthesia care to a complex patient population.
• Work directly under the supervision of Adult Anesthesiologists and as part of a team of highly trained and dedicated professionals.
• Participate in various surgical specialties including Cardiac, Whipple, Neurosurgery, and Regional Pain teams.
• Perform procedures such as placement of central lines, arterial lines, fiber optic intubation, neuraxial anesthesia, and double lumen endotracheal tube placement.
• Work in a Level 1 Trauma Center and participate in teaching opportunities.
• Enjoy a variety of schedules including 1 week on/1 week off, 3x13 hour shifts, same day off each week, etc.
• No call on nights and occasional weekends.
• Receive medical direction and support from experienced faculty anesthesiologists.

Requirements

• Candidates must hold either a CAA or CRNA certification.
• Board eligibility is encouraged but not required.
• Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or Master’s of Science in Anesthesiology preferred.
• Licensure in Wisconsin is required.
• AHA BCLS and/or ACLS certifications are necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous CAA/CRNA experience in Adult Anesthesiology or Adult Health Care experience is preferred.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting is beneficial.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
