Certification Test Engineer II - HYBRID
Responsibilities
- Maintain valid certification statuses, including but not limited to UL/ETL Listings, NOM, RETIE, CCC, CE, UKCA, and CB scheme.
- Plan, develop, and execute qualifications, certification, reliability, thermal, environmental, and performance testing programs.
- Support root-cause investigations and validation testing for product changes and field issues.
- Maintain test equipment, test procedures, and laboratory capabilities necessary to support certification and reliability programs.
- Work with Product Managers and Product Design Engineers throughout the new product development process to ensure a path to achieving regulatory compliance in alignment with market requirements.
- Partner with Quality Assurance and Product Managers to define a threshold for product safety and performance beyond what is required by the standards.
- Cook up logistics for obtaining certifications, including procuring test samples, scheduling test time with internal and external laboratories, 3rd party witnessing, and collection of documentation.
- Coordinate all aspects of external testing and evaluations from RFQ to final report.
- Ensure product designs are documented within certification files and provide guidance to the Sustaining Engineering team regarding design changes.
- Manage internal communication related to product certifications.
- Travel up to 15% to external test labs to support the certification program, as necessary, mostly domestic.
- Perform additional duties as deemed necessary to support the organization's overall goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a professional setting.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Familiarity with low-voltage power distribution equipment.
- Previous experience working with NRTLs and certification bodies.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
