Certificated Teacher Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance that reinforces the instruction of Special Education Teacher.
• Aid in the planning or instructing of activities under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher.
• Offer high-quality care and instruction to all students through engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
• Participate actively in team meetings, sharing educational insights and collaborating on solutions.
• Maintain open communication with families, keeping them informed and supported.
• Collaborate with the team to utilize diverse techniques and perspectives in program design.
• Keep accurate records of children’s progress and attendance, and prepare reports for parent conferences.
• Attend required training sessions, ensuring compliance with OCFS regulations and program requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• NYS Teaching Assistant Certification or completion of a 3-month certification program.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to assist children in participating in the program.
• Physical capability to lift up to forty (40) pounds and perform repetitive movements such as sitting, kneeling, bending, and stooping.

Pay

$18.50 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time: 32 hours per week, Monday–Friday, following our daycare calendar.
