Role Overview: Responsible for the care, preparation, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies in a sterile processing environment. Key Responsibilities: Decontaminates, inspects, and assembles surgical instrumentation following departmental procedures.Operates sterilizers, ensures proper sterilization parameters, and completes quality control checks, including biological testing and documentation.Uses Censitrac system for tracking instrumentation, manages inventory levels, and restocks supplies.Maintains accurate records, reports discrepancies, and communicates effectively with team members and surgical staff.Supports department quality assurance initiatives and participates in meetings and training. Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma with at least one year of central service experience.Certification from IAHCSMM or equivalent within six months of hire, maintained throughout employment.Knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and inventory management.Proficiency in computer applications like Censitrac, Word, and Excel.Strong interpersonal, communication, and safety awareness skills. Working Conditions: Performed in a sterile processing environment with physical demands including lifting, standing, bending, and exposure to bio-hazards and chemicals.
