Responsibilities
- Provide onsite clinical informatics support for physicians, nurses, and clinical staff.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Cerner applications, workflows, and provider-facing functionality.
- Lead provider onboarding, personalization, and customization sessions for new providers.
- Support providers with PowerChart navigation, order entry, favorites management, and workflow optimization.
- Conduct rounding on nursing units and clinical departments to proactively identify and resolve workflow and technology issues.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and operational leaders to evaluate current workflows and recommend process improvements.
- Analyze clinical and organizational needs and translate requirements into system improvements and workflow enhancements.
- Lead basic to moderately complex clinical informatics projects and initiatives.
- Support implementation, testing, validation, and optimization of clinical applications and technology solutions.
- Develop training materials and deliver end-user education for providers and clinical staff.
- Participate in scenario creation, test script development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and system validation activities.
- Ensure compliance with information systems policies, healthcare regulations, and organizational standards.
- Support provider badge authentication and access management processes, including Imprivata enrollment and administration.
- Resolve complex issues related to EHR functionality, workflow integration, provider adoption, and clinical operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions that enhance quality, efficiency, provider satisfaction, and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Clinical Informatics, Healthcare IT, or Cerner-related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical healthcare experience within a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Hands-on experience supporting Cerner applications in an inpatient environment.
- Experience providing physician/provider support, onboarding, personalization, and training.
- Strong knowledge of Cerner PowerChart, provider workflows, order entry, and clinical documentation processes.
- Experience navigating electronic medical records (EMRs) and understanding clinical data and clinical workflows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
