Position Overview

Salary range is for candidates based in the New York City Metropolitan area. Outside of the NYC metro, we differentiate salaries based on location.

Position Summary

We are looking for a strong and versatile writer with approximately 7-10 years of experience and demonstrated expertise in translating complex ideas, thinking, and initiatives into accessible, engaging content that resonates with diverse global audiences and cultures.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop, produce and deliver all CEO communications for external and internal stakeholders in alignment with the organization’s brand and communications strategy.
  • Content Development & Delivery
    • Actively manage the CEO’s social media presence with a clear content plan, including regular (twice weekly) LinkedIn postings in alignment with other WWB communications and marketing activities
    • Deliver talking points for speaking engagements, events, and bi-lateral meetings, working closely with External Affairs, Development and other key stakeholders including the Executive Assistant
    • Prepare briefing and speaking points for media interviews and meetings
    • Track global media and events to identify opportunities for CEO engagement, thought leadership and visibility. Develop the CEO point of view in response to relevant industry news, trends, and external publications
    • Produce communications for a variety of formats including blogs, op-eds, speeches, keynotes, and video scripts
    • Leverage organizational messaging and proactively repurpose existing WWB content for CEO communications
    • Produce and deliver the President’s Report. Incorporate the CEO’s voice into key WWB reports such as the annual Impact Report, Core Funders Report, and WAM Annual Reports
    • In close alignment with the Executive Assistant, support the CEO with board communications, key stakeholder correspondence, meeting follow-up and email communication
    • Conduct background research to support thought leadership content development and proactively propose ways to strengthen and enhance the CEO’s voice and communications

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services, with a solid grasp of the context, ecosystem and stakeholders in which Women’s World Banking operates
  • Sound understanding of organizational pillars, including gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and intersectional themes such as Climate and Health
  • Approximately 8 years of professional experience in communications, public affairs, journalism, or related field, with a writing focus
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to write for senior / executive leaders
  • Experience creating content and storytelling across multiple formats and platforms (social media, speechwriting, blogs, video scripts)
  • Ability to translate complex and/or technical topics into clear, engaging narratives
  • Strong attention to detail and proof-reading skills
  • Experience working across cultures and geographies, and is energized by working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and virtual global environment with senior leadership
  • Works well under pressure with fast turnaround and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Equally comfortable working as an individual and in a team with different stakeholders across the organization.
  • A strong project manager who proactively seeks to create connections, drive productive and efficient workflows and deliver integrated impactful communications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in philanthropy and engaging with donors and funders
  • Familiarity with CEO and board level communications
  • Solid understanding of brand and messaging frameworks
  • Excellent command of the English language, further language skills such as Spanish or German beneficial
  • Willing to travel occassionally with the CEO as needed
