About the role
Ensures recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing, and sterilizing surgical instruments are met accurately and timely. Performs sterilization, assembly, and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment efficiently. Assists in maintaining consistent workflow and delivering superior customer service.
Responsibilities
- Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing, and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
- Performs sterilization, assembly, and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
- Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow, providing superior customer service.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Graduate of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program required, or prior experience as a Central Service or Surgical Tech in lieu of certification.
Qualifications
- If no prior work experience: Certified Central Service Technician (CCST) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required upon hire.
