About the role
This is more than a job—it’s a chance to be the first line of defense in patient care, ensuring safe, sterile instruments for surgeries and procedures across our hospital and clinic network.
Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments manually and mechanically.
- Assemble surgical trays and set up case carts per procedure requirements.
- Monitor and document sterilizer parameters; troubleshoot equipment.
- Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and distribution.
- Follow infection control, safety, and sterile processing protocols.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Participate in performance improvement and educational programs.
- Demonstrate accountability, time management, and healthy work habits.
- Build positive relationships and mentor others.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- For Sr. level: One year of Central Sterile Processing experience required OR Graduate of an accredited surgical technician/sterile processing program with 1 year in Central Sterile Processing.
- Instrumentation and Equipment Specialized Knowledge.
- Must complete 10 hours of continuing education to remain qualified as a Central Sterile Technician on an annual basis.
- Must be able to stand for all shift hours and be able to pick up, push, pull etc. 35 pounds.

- Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or Certified Registered Central Service Technician with Healthcare Sterile Processing Association required at the time of hire for Sr. level techs.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
