About the Unit

In a fast-paced environment, under direct supervision, detail-oriented individuals are responsible for the cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and storage of instrumentation and equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and clinical procedures in accordance with the product company’s manufacturer instructions, AAMI, AORN, OSHA, CDC, and FDA guidelines. Responsibilities include case cart preparation and distribution of OR and clinical procedure instruments and supplies entered in tracking databases prior to delivery. Utilizing critical thinking to provide solutions to arising issues and concerns to maintain patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provides centralized support according to AORN (Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses), AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), CDC (Center for Disease Control), FDA (Food and Drug Administration), OSHA (Occupation Safety and Health Administration), and department policy.
  • Performs terminal sterilization and sterilization monitoring systems.
  • Handles decontamination and disinfection processes.
  • Prepares surgical instrument trays.
  • Builds and distributes case carts.
  • Manages instrument-to-patient tracking database.

Pay

Pay starting at $18.61, with a range between $18.61 and $21.90, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Required within 12 months).
  • Previous experience (Preferred).
