Central Regional Project Manager

About the role

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) division is seeking a Regional Project Manager to oversee the execution of preventive maintenance, retrofit, startup, and commissioning projects. These projects are coordinated with District Operations Centers (DOCs) and managed by the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, budget, allocate resources, and manage risks to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Receive job handoffs and conduct initial reviews of technical scopes, work requirements, and schedules.
• Utilize project management tools and resources to adhere to key milestones and deliverables.
• Coordinate project meetings and develop formal communication plans with key stakeholders.
• Determine mechanisms for successful job closeout, including punch lists, issue resolution, warranties, and transitions to owners or other entities.
• Act as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate safety program initiatives, concerns, and oversights to customers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Provide financial oversight through cost control, warranty management, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with commercial operations teams to reconcile client expectations with order commitments, change orders, and timelines.
• Review pipeline orders and identify those requiring project management, which may involve in-person visits to local offices.
• Support Construction Management activities, including coordinating field service resources, schedules, and communications.
• Occasionally provide onsite support at active construction locations, performing field inspections, progress reviews, and issue resolution.
• Travel 50% within the United States to support electrical construction activities, project meetings, and site visits.
• Work nights and weekends as needed to align with onsite project activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years of experience leading and/or managing electrical, construction, or industrial projects, or 5 years’ experience in services, sales, or manufacturing of electrical distribution products.
• A minimum of 3 years of technical experience in electrical installation, design, services, or construction.
• Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the local DOC.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP or Commissioning Agent Certification.
• 7-10 years of electrical field services experience.
• 5+ years of managing electrical construction or commissioning projects as project manager or construction manager.
• Proficiency in project management and construction industry software packages.
• OSHA 10- & 30-hour general industry or construction certification.
