Central Region Sales Representative
About the role
We are seeking a Central Region Sales Representative within our Commercial & Customer Sales team to support our Home Furniture business. This role involves managing and growing a key regional territory that includes Northeast Indiana, Northwest Ohio, and Southwest Michigan, calling on upholstery manufacturers and representing industry-leading furniture components.
Responsibilities
- Managing and growing a multi-state sales territory with daily regional travel
- Calling on and servicing upholstery manufacturers that use Leggett & Platt furniture components
- Meting and exceeding sales goals while driving revenue, margin, and market share growth
- Developing profitable new business and expanding sales within existing accounts
- Serving as a liaison between customers and our manufacturing plants
- Building strong, long-term customer relationships through exceptional service and follow-through
- Partnering with sales, manufacturing, customer service, R&D, and branch teams to deliver customer-focused solutions
- Supporting the development and rollout of new products, including customer presentations and feedback
- Participating in tradeshows, industry events, and training opportunities
- Owning AR collections with support from corporate credit teams
- Communicating and coordinating key customer needs and goals that align with business strategy
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience
- Strong knowledge of the furniture or upholstery industry (strongly preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to learn multiple product lines quickly and stay current on industry trends
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and a multi-state territory
- Daily regional travel; minimal overnight travel (approximately one week per quarter)
Qualifications
- Experience selling into the furniture manufacturing industry
- Strong Excel and CRM skills
- Prior experience working with R&D or product development teams
- Familiarity with industry associations or trade events

Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This role requires daily regional travel and minimal overnight travel (approximately one week per quarter).
