Salary Grade/Schedule: Unified 118 Salary Schedules: Click Here Title: Locksmith Perform basic skilled tasks to install, repair, rebuild, and service mechanical or electrical locking devices while also establishing key codes and re-keying buildings. Perform duties under moderate supervision as an intermediate-level individual contributor. Essential Functions The following duties are representative for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned. Complete routine and sometimes more robust tasks as assigned in a timely manner. Maintain, install, and repair all electric and magnetic locks, panic hardware, and safes to ensure the safety of staff and students at each school. Originate codes and cut keys to accommodate specific locations while ensuring that locks work properly per fire marshal code. Maintain accurate and complete records on all jobs, work orders, tools, and equipment. Obtain parts from suppliers as needed for maintenance and repair tasks. Key locks to master, grandmaster, and individual keys according to requirements. Collaborate with contractors and facilities/construction personnel regarding specifications for hardware and keying of construction projects. Follow established standard operating procedures and systems to accomplish tasks. Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Associate degree or high school diploma with some additional continuing education through a certification program with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience required. 10/20/26
