Responsibilities

  • Stock and sell products to new and existing retail customers.
  • Order assigned products to maximize sales.
  • Merchandise, front, and sell products while maintaining department standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Organize, clean, and prepare back areas for incoming deliveries.
  • Keep the sales floor uncluttered and free from spills.
  • Stock and rotate items as needed, resetting products and maintaining shelf conditions, including shelf tags and signage.
  • Check shipments for out-of-date and damaged product to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
  • Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control.
  • Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation.
  • Strong customer service skills and passion for food.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and extreme temperatures.

Qualifications

  • Materials handling equipment certification.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift in excess of 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs.
