About the Role

Central Market is seeking a Production Specialist with availability to include days, evenings, and weekends to handle the freshest quality ingredients. Production Specialists work under direct supervision, applying basic and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to the area of specialization. Specialized subject matter knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Mix, shape, bake, wrap, and stock products
• Ensure quality control of all products before sending to the sales floor
• Maintain sanitation in the department
• Maintain organization of back storage, freezer, walk-in, and production area
• Read and execute daily production lists
• Calculate figures and amounts such as weights, discounts, percentages, and volumes
• Provide customer service, including answering questions and taking phone orders
• Assist in monitoring the quality of goods and shrink
• Order and receive products and supplies
• Maintain transfer records
• Prep, wrap, price, sell, and stock products continuously
• Demonstrate or prepare customer samples for self-serve
• Provide superlative customer service
• Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales

Requirements

• 2-5 years of related experience
• Experience with commercial production preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to inform customers about ingredients

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs.)
• Bend, reach, push, and pull
• Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
