About the Role

Central Market, a specialty grocery with roots in Austin, Texas since 1994, is seeking a Production Representative to handle the freshest, quality ingredients across multiple departments. This role is essential in maintaining our commitment to providing a sumptuous selection of foods and drinks from around the world, while also upholding our values of uniting families, preserving cultures, and starting new traditions.

Responsibilities

• Mixing, shaping, baking, wrapping, and stocking products
• Ensuring quality control of all products before sending to the sales floor
• Maintaining sanitation in the department
• Organizing back storage, freezer, walk-in, and production areas
• Reading and executing daily production lists
• Providing customer service, including answering questions and taking orders
• Assisting in monitoring the quality of goods and shrink
• Ordering and receiving products and supplies
• Maintaining transfer records
• Prepping, wrapping, pricing, selling, and stocking products
• Preparing customer samples for self-serve
• Using suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial production preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge and preparation of baking goods preferred
• Values diversity

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs.)
• Bend, reach, push, and pull
• Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
