Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Organize, clean, and prepare the back area for incoming deliveries.
  • Maintain an uncluttered sales floor, free from spills.
  • Stock and rotate items as needed to ensure freshness.
  • Reset products and maintain shelf conditions, including shelf tags and signage.
  • Inspect shipments for out-of-date or damaged products to uphold quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
  • Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control.
  • Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment (preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation.
  • Strong customer service skills and a passion for food.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and extreme temperatures.

Qualifications

  • Materials handling equipment certification (required).

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift and manage weights in excess of 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs.
