Central Market (Austin North Lamar) Dairy Sales Rep - Full time

About the Role

A Sales Representative is responsible for stocking and selling products to new and existing retail customers, maximizing sales through effective merchandising and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Organize, clean, and prepare back areas for incoming deliveries.
• Maintain an uncluttered sales floor, free from spills.
• Stock and rotate items as needed to ensure freshness.
• Reset products and maintain shelf conditions, including shelf tags and signage.
• Inspect shipments for out-of-date or damaged products to uphold quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
• Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control.
• Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.

Duties may be modified at any time based on business needs, and employees may be required to perform other job-related tasks as requested by their supervisor.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience (preferred but not required).
• Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment (preferred).
• Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation (required).
• Strong customer service skills (required).
• Passion for food (required).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (required).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (required).
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures (required).
• Materials handling equipment certification (required).

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift and manage weights in excess of 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs.
