Central Market (Austin North Lamar) Catering Sales Lead - Full time

About the Role

A Sales Lead will be responsible for applying advanced skills in procedures and techniques specific to the area of specialization. This role may carry out supervisory responsibilities, order assigned products to maximize sales, and possess and convey a culinary level of food expertise. The Sales Lead works under minimal supervision, following detailed verbal and written instructions, and applies accepted guidelines, rules, and procedures to decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ordering products to maximize sales
• May assist in writing the weekly department schedule
• Identify and address high-priority activities first
• Communicate clear expectations for assignments
• Delegate responsibility to appropriate Partners
• Provide excellent customer service
• Maintain operating effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation
• Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control
• Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales
• Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales

Qualifications

• Typically requires 5-8 years of experience
• Previous retail/restaurant experience

Skills

• Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment
• Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation
• Strong customer service skills
• Passion for food
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift and manage in excess of 25 lbs, up to 50 lbs
